Zayn Malik, one-fifth of One Direction, has learned his lesson about sleeping in.
During a London press conference to promote their upcoming documentary "This Is Us" on Monday, the group revealed that Zayn came close to being ousted after showing up late to rehearsals when they were first starting out.
His bandmate Liam Payne was speaking about their first meetings, saying that it was "a bit strange trying to get people together for rehearsals" and that "to this day it's a struggle to get Zayn out of bed." The documentary's director Morgan Spurlock then chimed in to jog their memories saying, "Remember he didn't show up and you were going to fire him?"
The boys don't seem to be holding anything against him three years later, now that they've shot to international fame as a group. Their film will be getting a grand premiere in London next week, and hits theaters in the U.S. on August 30th.
