(Akron) - FirstEnergy continues to work on restoring power to those who lost electricity during the Wednesday storms.

As of 10:00 a.m., less than 1,100 people were still out in greater Cleveland and 6,000 or so across northern Ohio.

FirstEnergy's Mark Durbin says 80,000 customers were without power at the height of the storm.

Durbin says two weeks of rain loosened tree roots causing them to fall in the high winds.  Lightning during the storm and flooded roads hampered the early response.

Durbin expects all service to be restored by Friday night at the latest. <
