(Cleveland) - The 25th annual Cleveland Pride Parade and Festival was held in downtown Saturday.

The gay-pride parade stepped off at noon from West Third Street and St. Clair Avenue and made its way east on Lakeside Avenue, to Voinovich Bicentennial Park.

At the festival there was continuing entertainment 1 to 9 p.m. on two stages. Among the performers was the North Coast Men's Chorus.

There seemed to be a larger turnout this year, with many attendees explaining it was their fest time visiting the event.

Many say they are excited with the Supreme Court's decision striking down the Defense of Marriage Act, and feel decision brings gays one step closer to full equality.

Among those attending was Casey Van Buskirk of the group Freedom Ohio which is gathering petition signatures to put marriage equality of the November 2014 ballot.

He contends that as more Ohioans discover their gay relatives they will be more support of marriage equaity.
