(Cleveland) - Megabus has moved from West Huron Street downtown to the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Transit Center near Cleveland State University.

The low cost bus service has a lease to use the center in a pilot program that could lead to a long term contract.

RTA spokesperson Mary Shaffer says Megabus approached them, seeking to move from the busy, congested boarding stop on West Huron behind Tower City.

The transit center has restrooms, easy drop off spots, shelter from the weather, and connections with RTA Rapids and buses.

Megabus is also offering service to new destinations in addition to trips to Detroit, Pittsburgh, and Chicago.

Megabus riders will still have to purchase their tickets online, but fares will remain as low as $1.
