(Cuyahoga County) – After another week of picketing and accusations, yet another bargaining session for the Strongsville Board of Education, and the Strongsville Education Association.

Arriving for negociations with the federal mediator Friday afternoon, both sides said they are hopeful of a settlement, but no promises were made. The teachers have been on strike for 8 weeks.

Outside the federal mediator's office in Independence was parent Jeff DeJongh, who held a sign urging both sides to settle their differences.

DeJongh says he has pulled both his children from the Strongsville Schools and has enrolled them in an online academy until the strike ends. He contends very little learning is taking place.
