(East Cleveland)- Thousands of residents were without power Monday morning due to a water main break.

First Energy spokesman Mark Durbin tells Newsradio WTAM 1100 8,000 people were in the dark after a water main break flooded a substation on Euclid Avenue in East Cleveland.

By 10:45AM, most service was restored by routing power from another substation.

Crews were ready to make repairs once the flooded substation dries out.

The power outage also affected residents in Cleveland Heights and South Euclid.
