(Chardon) -- A bill is being reintroduced in the state House to name part of three highways after the three Chardon high school students shot dead a year and a half ago.

State Rep. Matt Lynch (R-Bainbridge) originally introduced the bill, and it's been reintroduced by Rep. John Patterson (D-Jefferson).

It would name part of Route 44 for Danny Parmertor, part of US 6 for Demetrius Hewlin, and part of Claridon-Aquilla road for Russell King, Jr.

One of Patterson’s aides tells The News-Herald that they want to do what can be done at the state level to honor the three.

The naming of roads is usually reserved for military veterans and police officers.
