(Mentor) - A suspect is charged with starting a fire in the Mentor marsh this afternoon.

Mentor Police Capt. Ken Gunsch says at 12:41pm a call was received reporting the Mentor marsh was on fire.

Mentor Fire and Police responded and found a marsh fire at the western edge of Woodridge Ln.

Gunsch tells Newsradio WTAM 1100, witnesses saw two juveniles running from the area at the time of the fire.

Police personnel located both juveniles who were subsequently taken into custody for further questioning. As a result of the investigation a 13 year old male was arrested and charged with arson.

Gunsch says so far they don't know why the juvenile set the blaze. It burned about 10 acres and raged for around 3 hours.
