(Elyria) -- Police have arrested a man they say may be the seller of an especially potent form of heroin that is responsible for three deaths connected to as many as 17 heroin overdoses in Lorain County over the weekend.

Siarres Noble, 29, has been charged with three counts of trafficking in drugs.

Elyria Police Capt. Chris Costantino tells WTAM that when Noble, of Elyria, was arrested, he had on him 75 grams of what is believed to be a very potent form of heroin called China White. Those drugs are being sent to a crime lab for confirmation.

According to Costantino, China White is laced with the pain drug Fentanyl, which is similar to morphine, and is four to five times more potent than heroin.

Costantino would not say how many of the overdoses are being connected to Noble, saying the investigation is continuing.
