(Akron) - The government shutdown has some area long-distance runners in limbo.

The Towpath Marathon is scheduled to wind through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park on Sunday, October 13. But the federal shutdown has closed the CVNP, putting the race in jeopardy.

As of now, organizers still plan to stage the 22nd running of the Towpath Marathon. But if the shutdown isn't settled by Tuesday, October 8, it will be recheduled.
