A couple from New Mexico got lucky when they discovered a genie lamp while hunting for treasure in Texas. The lamp, part of a contest by Treasure Games, offered either $1 million in cash or three wishes totaling $1.2 million to the finder. After three trips and two months of searching, Ron Novak and Michelle Bush stumbled upon the lamp, much to their surprise.
The couple opted for the three wishes, using one to donate to a charity that helped Novak at a time when he was homeless. They also purchased a motel to renovate and got a new Sprinter van so they could accommodate their four dogs during their future adventures. Inspired by their experience, they plan to launch their own treasure hunt game, aiming to make it more accessible and affordable than the one they just won.
The coupleâs journey not only brought them an unexpected fortune but also motivated them to get started on their new game, which they envision to be both challenging and enjoyable. Their treasure hunt will start with a minimum prize of $5,000 and is meant to be solvable within a shorter timeframe than their previous endeavor. Meanwhile, Treasure Games is getting ready for their next $1-million contest, which is set to begin in June.
