Migos On Nicki Minaj & Cardi B's Rumored Rivalry: 'They Played Themselves'

Even Migos tried to squash the rumored tension between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, but the group said they could only do so much to bring the femcees together for "MotorSport," as per a new interview with the rap trio.

Despite reaching the No. 6 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and scoring rave reviews for the flashy clip, fans were still left wanting more when they saw that the female rappers didn't film the video together. "They played themselves," Quavo explained of the missed opportunity. "We tried to create that moment. I feel like that record is still a moment, just the record alone. Hearing both of them on one song go at it."

Asked how they look at the song in regards to their whole discography, Offset said he couldn't be happier to the public's reaction. "I love it. With it being a moment, it touched everybody. You know how you got the trap records that got all the girls?" he explained. "On our shows, we might let the whole thing rock, everybody's verse. It's just too crazy. They don't even have to be present on the stage."

Despite their problematic troubles, there's no denying that "MotorSport" was indeed a staple for hip-hop collabs in 2017, and, trust, they know it. "We made a moment for hip-hop again," Offset boasted. Back in November, Bardi revealed that the verse we hear on the final track isn't what she initially heard when she got in the lab to record her contributions. "Well, when I heard the track, her verse wasn't finished. Well, it's not the verse that was on right now," she explained to Capital Xtra. "Quavo told me to get on the song and I just felt like it's the perfect opportunity for me to be on the track that's big like them. Those are two big people and I just started in the game."
