Alkaline Trio Announces First Album in Five Years, Drops Lead Single

Matt Skiba may be busy with his duties in blink-182but that doesn't mean he doesn't make time for the band that started it all for him: Alkaline Trio.

On Thursday (July 19), the Chicago-based three piece announced their ninth studio album, Is This Thing Cursed?. The band describes the upcoming album as a "cousin or sibling" to their 2000 release, Maybe I'll Catch Fire.

"The songwriting process is almost like what it was back in the day," singer Dan Andriano explains in a news release. "We would just kind of write a song, be excited about it and move on. We wrote in that spirit in the studio."

"I really feel like we made a record that the old school fans are going to dig," he adds.
