Will Smith Working On 'Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air' Spinoff: Report

Will Smith is reportedly developing a Fresh Prince Prince of Bel-Air spinoff.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Will and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith's cross-platform holding company Westbrook will handle the production for the show. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait indefinitely for further details about the project as the THR article, which was a profile on how "Will Smith Cracked Code on Making Real Money in Hollywood," did not reveal any concepts for the show or its release date.

News of the Fresh Prince spin-off comes just days after Will announced the return of Fresh Prince merch. "I put my thang down, flipped it and reversed it. Then I put it on sale. NEW @FRESHPRINCE MERCH!" he wrote on Instagram earlier this month. The limited-edition clothing line, named Bel-Air Athletics, offered 26 items including a gym bag kit, socks, t-shirts, jackets, and more.

Will first revived the '90s back in May with a limited Fresh Prince of Bel-Air merch drop, releasing t-shirts, caps, wallets, and notebooks that were only available for purchase for 72 hours.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which was co-created by Quincy Jones, originally aired on NBC from 1990 to 1996. Following its six-year run, Will went on to act on the big screen, becoming one of Hollywood's most respected and beloved movie stars.
