Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn went on a romantic getaway to Utah and the former has shared a glimpse of the vacation.
On Thursday (August 6), the British actor, 29, took to Instagram to post a photo of himself on a hike with a scenic mountain view behind him. Dressed in a white t-shirt, dark shorts and baseball cap, Alwyn appeared with his head down and kept the caption simple with a mountain emoji. No photo credit was given to Swift, 30, but an E! News source had previously reported that the couple enjoyed the area before heading to Los Angeles. "Taylor has been based in Nashville, but she just went to Park City, Utah for a few days with Joe," an insider told the celebrity gossip outlet. "They're back in LA."
Fans noticed that Swift and Alwyn had been self-isolating with each other amid the COVID-19 pandemic when the actor shared some snaps of what appeared to be the pop superstar's cats in late April. During the lockdown, the chart-topper used the downtime to record her recently-released album, folklore. "In isolation my imagination has run wild and this album is the result," she explained in the album notes via Instagram. "Picking up a pen was my way of escaping into fantasy, history and memory. I’d told these stories to the best of my ability with all the love, wonder and whimsey they deserve."
Outside of their social media, Swifties have been able to gather, or at least suspect, bits about the star's romance with Alwyn on the eighth studio album. "the lakes," a final bonus track from the critically-acclaimed LP, contains rumored references to her boyfriend of three years and is named after the United Kingdom's Lake District. The track accidentally made its way online ahead of its scheduled release as part of the physical formats of the LP, per Variety.
