If You Got Your COVID Vaccine, Here's How You Could Also Score 10-Cent Beer

There’s a new perk to getting the COVID-19 vaccine: 10-cent beers.

Market Garden Brewery wants to give newly-vaccinated Clevelanders a massively-discounted drink to celebrate, the company announced Thursday (March 18).

The first 2,021 of-age people who bring their vaccination certificate can get a 10-cent beer, WKYC reported. They also have to be subscribers of the Market Garden Brewery email newsletter.

“To celebrate the triumph of the vaccine and the better and brighter days that lie just ahead, we’re rolling out a campaign called ‘Market Garden’s Beer & the Shot!'" the brewery told WKYC.

Market Garden Brewery and other Ohio City businesses — including Bar Cento, Nano Brew and McNulty’s — are back from a four-month hiatus because of the ongoing pandemic, News 5 Cleveland noted. The teams are enforcing COVID-19 guidelines, including masks, sanitizing and social distancing.

The Ohio Department of Health has reported more than 995,000 total cases as of Thursday, the latest data available. The state is at about 143.8 cases per 100,000 people, data show.

Earlier this month, Gov. Mike DeWine announced the benchmark he would use to lift all health orders: 50 cases per 100,000 people for two weeks.

“The end of our fight is now in view, but we must continue pressing forward in these final days,” he said in a tweet on March 4. “We must not relent.”
