CLEVELAND - As part of CLE Inspires Week powered by Kaulig Giving, Cleveland Guardians Charities announced a new Fields for the Future project with financial support from Guardians four-time All-Star 3B José Ramírez and in partnership with the City of Cleveland.

CGC is set to gift a turfed baseball/softball field to the City of Cleveland at the currently under construction Clark Field site in the nearby Clark/Fulton neighborhood. The Guardians also announced the field will be named JosĂ© RamĂrez Field. The field, which is projected to be completed Spring 2023, will serve the youth of Cleveland, including the club’s RBI programs and being the home field for CMSD’s Lincoln West High School baseball and softball programs.

“When JosĂ© RamĂrez signed his long-term contract extension this past offseason he made it clear he wanted to make a lasting legacy on and off the field in the City of Cleveland,” said Sr. VP of Public Affairs and Cleveland Guardians Charities President Bob DiBiasio. “As one of our Guardians Baseball and Softball Youth Ambassadors, JosĂ© has a passion for improving the game and wanted to make this investment along with Cleveland Guardians Charities to provide a turfed field for area youth to play on in the largest Hispanic neighborhood in Ohio, which was very important to him.”

The CGC Fields for the Future program was created to improve the field conditions for youth baseball and softball players in the City of Cleveland.

This will be the third turfed field since 2019 for Cleveland Guardians Charities (other two include C.C. Sabathia Field at Luke Easter Park and Talty Field at the Jim Thome All Star Complex).
