Kyle Farnsworth, 16 year MLB vet, spent his time on nine different teams during his baseball career. Now at 46, he's put his energy towards his new career as a professional bodybuilder. Farnsworth posted a selfie to Twitter on Tuesday showing off his new physique. He intends to enter an upcoming qualifier for NPC Southern USE Weightlifting Championship. He has been documenting his bodybuilder adventure on his social media.
Farnsworth last pitched in the MLB 2014 with the Houston Astros and his last pitch ever was in 2016 with the Broncos de Reynosa, MBL. Farnsworth broke into the MLBas a starter for the Chicago Cubs before transitioning to the bullpen. He retired with a 4.26 career ERA and 963 strikeouts in 988.2 innings. At 6'4" and 230 pounds, Farnsworth was among the larger pitchers in the league. We'll see if his large frame serves him well at his upcoming competition.
