On Friday, Jada Sayles went into labor hours before she was set to graduate from Dillard University, so she texted the university president to let him know she’d miss the graduation.
She delivered her baby boy the next day and then on Sunday, Dillard’s outgoing president, Walter M Kimbrough, came to the hospital to perform a private graduation ceremony.
“I did something today I have never done before in 18 years as a college resident,”.Kimbrough shared in a tweet. “I conferred a degree in a hospital.”
