For eight months, a gang in India was running a fake police station approximately 1,600-feet away from a real police station. It’s not uncommon in India to see “fraudsters imitating police officers and soldiers” in a play to scam and manipulate people. This particular gang rang their cop ruse out of a local hotel, and paid locals to go along with it, as they bilked unsuspecting people by taking “bribes” and other racquets. Eventually, a real cop got suspicious, especially after asking them about being on-the-job and seeing their fake weapons, and finally the jig was up.
