Karen Ressegieu woke up early last Saturday so she could finish making cakes for a funeral, but when she went to wake her husband Jim, he was unresponsive.
After multiple attempts to revive Jim failed, paramedics declared the 79-year-old deceased, but Karen just couldn’t stop worrying about the cakes she still needed to finish.
La Vista police Officer John Danderand was struck by her selflessness, so he jumped in the kitchen and started helping Karen finish the cakes, an act that’s received widespread praise.
