Amanda Ramirez of Florida has filed a lawsuit against Kraft Heinz because of what she says is misleading information on packages of Velveeta Shells & Cheese cups. Ramirez says the package claims it can be prepared in three-and-a-half minutes, but that it actually takes longer than that.
The directions say to microwave the food for three-and-a-half minutes, but there are other steps that take more time. She also lists in the lawsuit, filed in US District Court, the “premium price” of the product at $10.99. She’s asking for $5M; Kraft Heinz said in response to the filing that “We are aware of this frivolous lawsuit and will strongly defend against the allegations in the complaint.”
