Scientists have found 168 new geoglyphs in a desert in Peru, which almost doubles the number of known Nazca Lines in the area. The drawings, which are designs on the ground by either adding or removing stones, show everything from snakes to felines, including birds, killer whales, and humans…including one that looks like Homer Simpson.
While most geoglyphs can only be seen from the air, the newly discovered ones are smaller than usual and average from six to 19 feet long. What the geoglyphs were created for is still a mystery, and archeologists say they believe they’ve only found around five percent of all Nazca Lines.
