AI tool ChatGPT seems to be everywhere right now, and that now includes the world of beer creation. Detroit-based Atwater Brewery says they’ve created the first beer from a recipe completely created by ChatGPT. The beer, which they’re calling Artificial Intelligence IPA, or AI IPA, has three types of malts and eight different hops.
The quality manager at Atwater, Joe Platt, says he asked the AI “Can you brew me an American IPA using centennial, citra, Amarillo, and melon hops;” he said he asked for melon hops because that’s “what we had on hand.” Platt says customer feedback on the beer, which they’ve had on tap since last month, has been positive so far.
