It’s curtains for Prada’s new mini dress. The fashion company has rolled out an “iron grey” frock which has been compared to everything from old drapes to an elephant hoof, to a “Travelodge towel”. The company described this dress as “a strapless silk dress meant to be both “raw and sensual,” and is selling for the unfashionable price of $3650.
Though the garment looks like something that was thrown together by a child playing with their mother’s sewing machine, Prada’s website says, “This strapless satin and pongé dress expresses a sense of apparent accidentality through its stark construction, with creased made through a wrinkled finish that recalls a sheet of paper.” It’s nice to know the description can be prettied up… even if the dress can’t.
