Things are moving fast in the world of Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater. It was only a couple of weeks ago we got the first inklings that something was going on with these two and their respective marriages; rumors started to circulate after Grande was spotted at Wimbledon without her wedding ring. Then things picked up speed.
- The very next day, we found out that Grande and her husband Dalton Gomez were splitting up, confirming the rumors.
- Three days later, we learned that Grande and "Wicked" co-star Ethan Slater were dating. Small issue: Slater is married.
- Almost immediately, we found out that Slater and his wife Lilly Jay were separated, with Jay reportedly "devastated" by the turn of events.
- Now we learn that Slater has officially filed for divorce. Slater filed in New York City without stating an official reason for the split.
Slater and Jay had been high school sweethearts, married for five years, and are the parents of one child. And while much of this is fast-breaking news, sources close to Grande and Gomez knew something was up for months. While the initial headlines announcing their split were published on July 17, the separation may have occurred as early as January - when Gomez visited his wife in England where she was filming. Sources say they realized at the time their marriage was over.
