A school bus driver in Long Island was caught drinking a White Claw while taking students home last week, but because of her story, she may stay out of trouble. Amal Hanna, 60, said in a news interview that ever since undergoing chemotherapy for cancer, she’s been unable to taste alcohol. Hanna, who’s since been fired from her job of 15 years, says she simply grabbed the can from the fridge she shares with a roommate and sipped on it as she drove the students home from Smithtown High School West on Wednesday. “It was just a mistake, it was a mistake,” Hanna said through tears. Fortunately for her, the cops believed her story and a spokesperson for Suffolk County Police Department says she will not be charged.
