A lion that escaped from the circus had residents of a town in Italy clamoring to get home and shelter in place. The giant adult male lion, named Kimba, escaped from the “Rony Roller Circus” on Saturday in a seaside town near Rome.
Mayor Alessandro Grando took to Facebook warning people to stay inside while circus staff and police officers worked to capture Kimba. Local media reported it took seven hours to capture the lion, who evaded the cops and circus staff on two attempts. Kimba was eventually “sedated and captured,” with many calling to “finally put an end to animal exploitation in circuses.”
