An employee at Florida’s Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport has been nailed with a felony charge over how a missing piece of luggage was allegedly handled. At Carousel 4, Paola Garcia was waiting patiently for her bag, but it never showed. After two hours, panic set in because that piece of baggage had her computer in it…and she needed her computer for work.

  • What she didn’t know is that, while she was waiting, 29-year-old Junior Bazile was in the back of the airport retail store where he worked allegedly rummaging through her bag
  • Surveillance video reportedly shows him taking “a MacBook and other assorted items,” and then placing Garcia’s suitcase in a clear plastic bag
  • Spirit Airlines said that they’d be sending the bag to her home, but Garcia received a signal that the bag wasn’t at the airport at all
  • Garcia then drove to the address the signal was coming from and “saw suitcases all over the place”…and then called police

Bazile was hit with a felony grand theft charge, and police are continuing to investigate. Garcia is of the mind that this is bigger than just one person, and others at the airport might be involved.
