We may complain about how expensive it is, but weโre not giving up on our beloved fast food. Some research suggests we might be going out to eat less than we used to because dining options donโt feel like a bargain anymore, but according to a new report, sales are up at restaurants across the country.
Technomic has just released their annualย Top 500 Report, which lists the top restaurant chains in the U.S. based on last yearโs sales. And it turns out, the rankings are virtually the same as the prior year.
- The research firmโs numbers show that McDonaldโs is the overwhelming winner, with $53.1-billion in sales in 2023.
- Thatโs more than $20-billion more than the number two restaurant, Starbucks, which had $31.6-billion in sales last year.
- Chick-fil-A is a distant third with $21.6-billion.
- Beyond the top 10, Panera Bread is 11th, followed by Panda Express, Pizza Hut, Sonic Drive-In and Popeyes.
