Being active is important for our health, both physical and mental. Maintaining an active lifestyle is easier in places that encourage and facilitate recreation and a new report reveals the parts of the country where it’s easiest.

  • WalletHub’s annual list of the Best and Worst Cities in the U.S. for Recreation has just come out.
  • They compared the 100 biggest cities in the country on 47 factors in the areas of entertainment & recreational facilities, costs, quality of parks and weather.
  • Based on those metrics, the best city for recreation is Las Vegas, Nevada.
  • It comes in first for entertainment & recreational facilities and 18th for weather.
  • Toledo, Ohio, 41st overall, is number one for cost, while Madison, Wisconsin, 46th overall, is first for quality of parks, and Riverside, California, 83rd overall, is tops for weather.
  • This year’s worst city for recreation is Chula Vista, California, which is 99th for entertainment & recreational facilities and near the bottom for cost and quality of parks.
