It’s not exactly a new dietary concept, but it’s making the rounds again thanks to social media. We’re talking about staying fit by changing the order in which you eat…otherwise known as “food sequencing.” Some claim that by starting a meal with a salad bowl or dish of vegetables, you can significantly reduce the amount of carb-rich foods to want to take in later in the meal. Then, there’s a study from the Imperial College of London that suggests starting off with a sugary dessert might be the way to go. Doing that, according to their research, resulted in the brain “quickly determining” that they’d taken in enough food and squashed to desire to overeat later on.
