Ed Sheeran has written and recorded “Under The Tree,” a new, original song for the upcoming animated movie “That Christmas,” debuting on Netflix on Dec. 6.
The voice cast includes Brian Cox as Santa, Fiona Shaw, and Bill Nighy.
The story unfolds in a seaside town where Christmas takes an unexpected turn and is based on Richard Curtis’ children’s book trilogy.
Sheeran also got to work with his older brother, Matthew, a composer, on this song.
Sheeran shared: “Since having kids, I noticed a lack of great animated children’s Christmas movies. The scene we wrote this song for is heartbreaking but real for many spending Christmas without loved ones,” he continued, “This will become a holiday staple in our household.”
