This isn’t the kind of buzz you want from a viral video. Footage is making the rounds online of a man being attacked by a swarm of bees in Encino, California. When an emergency call was put in about the swarm, a volunteer with the Los Angeles Police Department showed up to help. Unfortunately, the swarm set its sights on him, attacking him so vigorously that he fell to the ground. The man was eventually taken to the hospital to treat several stings, as well as the fall, and is reportedly in stable condition.
Officials aren’t clear where the swarm came from or why they started to attack. But they do say that if you’re ever in a situation like this, don’t swat at them and do run for at least a quarter mile to get away.
