Study: Smoking Weed Before Working Out Can Boost Motivation

A new study out of the University of Colorado Boulder has found that THC and CBD can have a positive impact on your gym routine. The “first-of-its-kind” study discovered increases in “motivation and enjoyment” when people smoked up before hitting the weights. Study participants were required to get on a treadmill thirty minutes after getting their cannabis on. Those participants said the treadmill time felt as if it passed by more quickly and said the workout “felt harder than when they ran sober.” Researchers suspect the “runner’s high” came from the drug “tapping into naturally produced brain chemicals that made individuals feel more euphoric and alert.”
