For those of you who live in areas where winter weather is an issue that needs to be regularly contended with, there’s a running debate on what to do about the road salt that ends up coating your car. You could leave it there and risk it messing up your paint or components of the vehicle. You could wash the car while worrying about if it’s too cold for such a thing. The correct answer, it turns out is cold washing is far less damaging to your car than what can be done by road salt slowly eating away at it. Generally, cold temperatures won’t hinder a good car wash session but take care if you’re talking about temperatures of ten degrees or lower. Bring along a towel and some lubricant to lessen the risk of your doors freezing and damaging door seals.
