From advising people to add glue to their pizza sauce to touting tobacco's benefits for kids, the auto-generated summaries seem to compromise the chatbot's credibility with its many flubs.
While Google defends its "high quality" product, the examples show AI's potential to spread misinformation to its over 1-billion users. Critics argue the mishaps, including wildly inaccurate claims about former presidents, show that AI is not ready to be everyone’s primetime info source, despite Google's disclaimers about the software.
