Some travelers choose a destination for its museums or nightlife, but for others, the trip is all about the food. From street food to fine dining, discovering dishes you can’t get the same way anywhere else can be the best part of a vacation. Since there are a lot of places out there and life is short, you can’t possibly get to them all, but Time Out is here to help you know the top spots to visit.
- Their list of the World’s Best Cities for Food has just come out.
- It was created by first asking thousands of locals in cities around the globe about their favorite food options in their city, including their must-visit restaurants, must-eat dishes and best-value bites, and to rate their city’s food scene on quality and affordability.
- Time Out then narrowed down the list to include the highest-scoring city from each country, and editors shared their favorite places to eat right now and ranked the cities.
- This year’s World’s Best City for Food is Naples, Italy, the birthplace of pizza, which is their “must-eat dish.”
- The top U.S. city on the list is Portland, Oregon at number 10.
