Artificial intelligence has become a part of our everyday lives in all kinds of different ways, even our love lives. While some people are reluctant to embrace the technology, others are leaning into it and a new survey reveals how Americans are using AI for help with dating and romance.

According to the poll of 2-thousand U.S. adults from Flirtini:

  • Half of respondents have asked chatbots, like Chat GPT, for dating advice and 55% have used AI to create messages to send to their love interest. But 15% say they got caught doing it.
  • Despite Chat GPT’s shortcomings, 56% say they now trust AI more than actual human dating experts and only 19% verify how accurate the advice is.
  • Nearly half (46%) have used a chatbot to practice flirting, and 40% admit they’ve used it to improve their sexting skills.
  • The results from AI aren’t always helpful, as 32% have experienced negative consequences, like fights with their partner (10%) or even a breakup (22%), after taking AI’s advice.
  • But 36% say AI has had a positive impact on their love life.
  • While some Americans are using the technology to help prepare them for real life romance, others just want someone to talk to, as 52% admit they’ve spent time with AI so they don’t feel so lonely.
