The Neptune Memorial Reef, located 40 feet underwater in Biscayne Bay off the coast of Miami Beach, is both the world's first underwater cemetery and is also set to become the largest man-made reef on the planet. Since its inception in 2007, the reef has grown to encompass one acre, with plans to expand to 16 acres, providing space for over 250,000 placements of human remains.

Right now, 1,500 people are laid to rest here, with thousands more who have already reserved their spots. Families can choose from a variety of burial options, ranging from simple memorials to elaborate family groupings.

Loved ones can visit the reef via scuba diving or by boat, making it a unique and lasting memorial while contributing to the local marine ecosystem. Developed to resemble the mythical Lost City of Atlantis, the reef provides an unusual way for individuals to memorialize their loved ones while helping the ocean and sea life.
