Banana Duct Taped To Wall Could Fetch Seven-Figures At Art Auction

Around five years ago, the art world was upended by a banana duct-taped to a wall. The 2019 piece was created by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan, who eventually sold three of them for $120K, $120K, and $150K apiece. The art piece is called “Comedian,” and a second edition is about to hit the Sotheby’s auction block. Bidding will start on November 20th, with appraisers estimating it’ll go for between $1 million and $1.5 million.
