Whether it’s for outfit planning or deciding what color to paint your bedroom, Pinterest knows what the top trending colors are. Their 2025 Color Palette of the Year is out, revealing the lineup of shades that will “set the tone” for the year.
“The Pinterest Palette is inspired entirely by Pinners—what they’re searching, saving and shopping for on our platform,” explains Xanthe Wells, VP of Global Creative at Pinterest. So, what are this year’s hottest shades? According to the annual color palette report, these are the hues we’ll be seeing everywhere.
- Cherry Red - This bold shade has taken over social media, and Gen Z and millennials “will infuse cherries into their makeup, menus and mood boards this year,” Pinterest shares. Searches on the site for “dark cherry red” are up 235% and “cherry vibe” searches are up 325%.
- Butter Yellow - This soft pastel is much more subtle, with Pinterest describing butter yellow as “a pinch of playful, a dollop of whimsy.” Searches on the site for “yellow outfit inspo” have increased 225% and searches for “butter yellow nails” have skyrocketed 1,825%.
- Aura Indigo - So, what color is this, exactly? According to Pinterest, it’s “lilac, but with an edge.” They predict we’ll see the “cosmic-inspired moody color” in beauty looks, as well as home and fashion designs. Searches for “purple core” are up 120% and the site has seen a 175% spike in searches for “purple lavender aesthetic.”
- Dill Green - Pickles are definitely having a moment, taking over social media with trends like a pickle juice-Diet Coke combo, pickle cupcakes, “picklewich” sandwiches and even glitter pickles, or “glickles.” But this green isn’t just for the fridge, as searches for “green kitchen design” have increased 155% and “green vibe” searches are up 80%.
- Alpine Oat - The final color in the 2025 palette is a “new neutral,” and according to Pinterest, “this cozy-chic color is all about layered textures - and that perfectly poured latte moment.” There’s been a 35% increase in searches for “beige room aesthetic” and a 145% boost in searches for “neutral outfits women.”
