Drake's home has become a magnet for crime amid his beef with Kendrick Lamar.
Police in Toronto were called to his Bridle Path mansion again on Wednesday, May 8, after a man attempted to break into his property. According to PageSix, the man claimed he was there "to see Drake" when he tried to bypass the the front gate. Security fought the man before they called police.
âOfficers were called after a person attempted to gain access to the property," Toronto Police said in a statement. "The person was apprehended under the Mental Health Act.â
The break-in happened a day after a drive-by shooting occurred outside of Drake's $100 million-dollar mansion. Police were called to his residence on Tuesday at around 2 a.m. and discovered a security guard laying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. The 48-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital and was listed under critical condition. He underwent surgery for his injuries, but he is expected to recover.
During a press conference, police said it's still too early to determine an exact motive. However, they are aware of the grand-scale feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. The shooting happened on the same day someone in London vandalized Drizzy's OVO store with lyrics from K. Dot's diss track "Not Like Us." The alleged vandals wrote "They not like us" in spraypaint on the front window.
Drake hasn't commented on neither the attempted break-in nor the shooting. Instead, he recently took to Instagram and posted the opening scene from Netflix's new series "A Man In Full." Check it out below.
