Majority of Americans Believe They Can Suss Out A Liar - Can You?

A poll of 2,000 US adults revealed that a majority of Americans believe that they can spot a liar. "Tells" included avoiding eye contact, talking nervously, fiddling with something in their hands or hands shaking, and posture. The study also looked at when people employ their bluffing skills - 32% reported playing poker, 30% reported when they are asked if they like someones outfit and they don't, and 27% reported when someone has made a horrible meal.

Judi James, body language expert and author of 'Poker Face' says that "Body language is not a precise science" and that in poker "tells" can also be used strategically to confuse an opponent.
