With the new live-action “Barbie” movie coming out in July, it’s already going to be the summer of Barbie and a new pop-up is getting in on the fun. A Malibu Barbie Cafe experience is coming to New York City and Chicago, thanks to Bucket Listers, the company behind pop-culture pop-ups like the Golden Girls Cafe.

According to the team, the family-friendly pop-up restaurant is a throwback to 1970s Malibu filled with “beachside energy,” more pink than you can handle and “lots of retro glam.”

  • The menu includes fast-casual food, created by “MasterChef” semi-finalist Becky Brown, with all-day brunch favorites and “classics with a unique Barbie-inspired twist.”
  • There will also be exclusive merch and “signature photo moments” so fans can snap as many Instagram pics as they want.
  • The Malibu Barbie Cafe will also include an iconic life-size Barbie box, perfect for photos of your best doll poses.

The New York City pop-up is set to open May 17th and the Chicago experience opens a few weeks later on June 7th. These events tend to sell out very quickly, so you can join the waitlist for New York here and Chicago here to be notified when tickets are available.
