Are you feeling hot in more ways than one these days? If the warm weather makes you friskier than usual, youâre not alone. Recent research reveals that the number of couples looking for advice on how to revive their sex life is down by 21% and experts say that makes sense.
According to intimacy specialist Holly Robinson and sex therapist Bat Sheva Marcus, thereâs science behind a summertime sex drive boost. They explain that the sun promotes our bodies to release extra serotonin and dopamine, the âfeel goodâ chemicals linked to pleasure, blood flow and energy. Plus, sunlight helps with production of vitamin D, which helps to improve mood and sexual satisfaction.
âAdd to this that your partner is likely perspiring more and therefore releasing pheromones that play a part in sexual attraction, and wearing less clothing to combat the heat, and itâs no surprise that couples need significantly less help getting it on in the summer,â the sexperts say. And if youâre not feeling that seasonal libido boost, they recommend managing stress and anxiety, as well as trying aphrodisiacs, like CBD, to get in the mood.
