The Akron Zoo is looking into a Komodo dragon attack that occurred on its property in Ohio this month. During the March 3rd incident in the “Komodo Kingdom employee service area,” a staff member sustained injuries from multiple bite wounds by a dragon named Padar.

According to the National Zoo, Komodo dragons can kill humans with their sharp, curved teeth and claws. Wounds from the reptile can also become septic from venom and bacteria. The dragons can also reach up to 10 feet in length and 300 pounds. A statement put out by the zoo says their “valued team member” is their “chief concern.”
