Marijuana is legal in 24 states today and decriminalized or available medically in many more, leading some folks to map out travel plans to include those locations. With 420 (April 20th, a holiday of sorts celebrated by pot-smokers around the world) coming up, a new study reveals the most 420-friendly cities in the country.

  • Upgraded Points used vacation rental data from Airbnb and Bud and Breakfast, a site for marijuana-friendly lodging rentals, to find the U.S. cities in states where recreational pot use is already legal with the most weed-friendly rentals, as well as the most affordable ones.
  • The most welcoming city for celebrating 420 is Boulder, Colorado, which has the highest number of marijuana-friendly rentals with 104.3 per 100-thousand residents.
  • Two more Colorado cities make the top 10, Denver at six and Colorado Springs at seven.
  • As for the least expensive 420-friendly accommodations, those can be found in Columbus, Ohio, where lodging averages $128 a night.
