When it comes to sex, sometimes you can’t wait to tear your partner’s clothes off and get busy, but other times it’s the last thing on your mind. And that’s totally normal, our libido is constantly fluctuating and a lot of factors can affect that. If you’re stressed, anxious or depressed, your desire may tank, just like when your relationship hits a rough patch.
But it turns out, there’s one easy thing you can do to help boost your sex drive. According to one study, an hour of extra sleep can increase a woman’s libido by 14%. And every good hour of sleep can boost it by the same percentage each time.
Out of the 171 women in the study, the women who enjoyed a longer average sleep time reported feeling more arousal and sexual desire than the women who slept less, on average. “When we don’t get good enough rest, this can affect our libido and our ability to enjoy sex,” explains clinical sexologist and sex and relationship coach Ness Cooper. “Some people even report difficulty reaching orgasm when they haven’t had good sleep.” So if you want to improve your sex life, sleeping a little more is worth a try.
