“Winnie the Pooh” is back, but he’s not like you remember. Now that the character of “Pooh” has entered the “public domain” arena, an independent film director is taking full advantage…making Pooh the centerpiece of a horror film. Yes, really. Rhys Waterfield is undertaking, “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey.” In it, Pooh isn’t a cuddly animated bear, but rather a dark-hearted man in a Pooh mask and various forms of weaponry. Teasers also show a Piglet mask-wearing accomplice along for the bloody ride. Not much about the plot is known at this point, but it has 80s- and 90s-era slasher fun written all over it.
